What is a Daily Fantasy Points Calculator?
When you’re building lineups, raw box score stats don’t tell you much on their own.
A 24/8/5 line looks good — but what does it actually score on FanDuel versus DraftKings? The scoring systems are different enough that it matters, especially when you’re comparing two players at similar salaries.
This calculator converts any NBA stat line into fantasy points for both platforms so you can make that comparison in seconds.

FanDuel vs DraftKings NBA Scoring
The two platforms use different weights for the same stats. The gaps that matter most in practice:
| Stat | FanDuel / Yahoo | DraftKings |
|---|---|---|
| Point | +1.0 | +1.0 |
| Rebound | +1.2 | +1.25 |
| Assist | +1.5 | +1.5 |
| Steal | +3.0 | +2.0 |
| Block | +3.0 | +2.0 |
| Turnover | -1.0 | -0.5 |
| 3PM bonus | +0.5 | +0.5 |
| Double-double | +1.5 | +1.5 |
| Triple-double | +3.0 | +3.0 |
Steals and blocks score significantly higher on FanDuel and Yahoo. Turnovers hurt more on FanDuel too. A player who defends and creates steals — a Jrue Holiday type — is worth more on FanDuel than DraftKings at the same salary.
Turnovers on a high-usage player are also more punishing on FanDuel, which is worth factoring into leverage decisions in GPPs.
Pick’em Vs. DFS
PrizePicks, Underdog, and Sleeper operate on a different format entirely — pick’em contests where you predict over or under on individual player stat lines, not salary-cap lineup construction.
This calculator is built for classic DFS: FanDuel, DraftKings, and Yahoo, where you’re building a full roster under a salary cap and competing against other lineups.
If you’re weighing which platform is the right fit for how you play, I broke down my experience across several of them in my notes on the best DFS apps.
How To DFS Calculator in Lineup Research
I pull this up when I’m looking at a player’s recent game log and trying to get a fast read on their floor. If someone went 18/6/4 with a steal and a block over their last three games, I want to know if that’s consistently hitting 35+ FanDuel points or sitting in the high 20s. The calculator makes that a 30-second check instead of manual math.
It’s also useful for cross-platform comparisons. The same player can be priced differently relative to their expected output depending on which platform you’re playing. Defensive contributors in particular tend to be underpriced on FanDuel because casual players undervalue steals and blocks.
